Université René-Descartes (Inter-University Specialty Diploma – Respiratory and Cardio-vascular Kinesitherapy).
I am also accredited by the F.Q.M. (Fédération québécoise des massothérapeutes - Quebec Federation of Massage Therapists)
A brief history of my practice:
Masso-kinesitherapist since 1984 (in private and hospital sectors), my training is comprised of an academic specialty in the respiratory, cardiac and vascular disease fields. (Université René-Descartes, PARIS V - 1998 -) Research: "Prospects and realities of rehabilitation training in obstructive respiratory insufficiencies."
I practised chest kinesitherapy on a daily basis both in hospitals and in private clinics; I often found myself before some respiratory problems on young patients in pediatric and neonatal resuscitation departments. I currently practise my profession at 1290 Van Horne Avenue, in Outremont, where I concentrate particularly on the care displayed to infants who suffer from respiratory disorders. I am also involved in diseases like Asthma, Cystic Fibrosis ... My experience is not limited to respiratory kinesitherapy. The motion of each joint of the human body is much more complex than the hinges of a door. Indeed, each joint movement is accompanied by sliding/rolling phenomena which are called micro-movements. They are essential to the proper functioning of the joints. Research into micro-kinesitherapy and practice of these micro-movements have shown that it was often more effective to restore the articular sliding movements to release an articulation, than to force it. I developed this approach following in the footsteps of Mr. SOHIER …
